Frank C. Fleischer 1930-2022.
Canton sadly lost a pillar on Thursday, December 29, 2022, when Frank C. Fleischer passed away at age 92. Frank carried on his father's tradition of voluntary activism, serving on Coming Together of Stark County, the Board of the Philomathean Society of the Blind, the Community Wellness Center, the Mayor's Taskforce on Crime and Safety Forces Committee, the Chamber of Commerce and Retail Merchants Association and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship by the Canton Rotary.
Professionally, Frank owned Fleischer's Shoes and was a founding member of the Prescription Footwear Association of America and the American Board of Certification in pedorthics.
As a teenager, Frank traveled the country with some of the major big bands as a jazz percussionist. He also played with the Canton Symphony, under Maestro Louis Lane.
Frank is survived by one son: Richard; 6 grandchildren: Aaron, Abigail, Michaela, Ethan, Spencer, and Madison; two great-grandchildren: Elara and Aiden, and two daughters-in-law, Heidi and Alison. And his close companion, Bradley. Frank lost his wife of 60 years, Barbara, and his two youngest sons, Randy and Jim.
A memorial service to celebrate Franks life will be Sunday 3:30pm in Temple Israel with Rabbi David Komerofsky and Rabbi John Spitzer officiating. The service will be livestreamed at www.templeisraelcanton.org/fleischer.
In lieu of gifts, memorial donations are requested to Coming Together of Stark County.
