Francis K. Prather, age 92 of Alliance, passed away December 25, 2024, in Altercare of Alliance. He was born September 17, 1932, in Canton to Clarence Benton and Anna Grace (Ellenberger) Prather. Fran was an independent painting and decorating contractor locally and for many years in the Chicago area. He graduated from Marlboro High School and was a Korean War Army Veteran, Sergent First Class (SFC).

Fran is survived by his wife Evelyn (Stentz) Prather; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin Prather of Alliance, Scott (Elizabeth) Prather of Red Lodge, Montana; grandchildren, Christian and Kaitlin Prather; brother, Don (Janet) Prather; nephews, Doug Prather, Dana Bauer, Jeff Bauer and Keith Bauer. He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Bauer and Beverly "Babe" Prather.

Mr. Prather was cremated, and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date, and he will be laid to rest in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
