Obituary

Frances L. Clontz, age 95, of Canton died Monday morning in Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Freeport, OH to the late Lewis & Clio (Shontz) Latham she was a retired Art Instructor having taught in various schools in the Canton area. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Frances was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Canton Woman's Club, Tuesday Art Painting Group, Red Hat Society, and Bridge Club. She enjoyed traveling to its fullest having visited Europe nine times, Scotland, England and Alaska. Frances also enjoyed raising and cultivating roses. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: George Clontz in1989, and a sister Olive Collins. Frances is survived by a niece: Linda Shehane of Warren, OH and a nephew: William Collins of Wisconsin. Great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. Wendy Bausman officiating. Interment will be in Greenmont Cemetery Freeport, OH. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the North Canton Lion's Club 1408 Chantilly Cir., N.E. Canton, OH 44721 or the Alzheimer's Assoc. 4815 Munson St., N.W. Canton, OH 44718.
