"Rose" Sellers
August 8, 1925 – January 16, 2011
Florhena Rosalie "Rose" Sellers, age 85, of Canton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2011. She was born in Salem, West Virginia to the late William Elisha and Dessie (Hudson) Ford. Rose lived most of her life in Canton, moving here in 1956. She retired from the Edmont Company in 1988 where she served as shop representative, Vice President and President of Local 688 Rubber Workers Union. Memberships included VFW Auxiliary 3747 and Fraternal Order of Eagles; Ladies Auxiliary 2223. In addition to her parents Rose is preceded in death by a daughter; Shirley A. Mizer in 1988. She leaves a legacy in her four surviving Children; Larry G. Powell of Missouri, Ernest (Jean) Sellers Jr., Cheryl Walker and fiancé Ron Knopp and William "Ken" (Janet) Sellers. Rose also leaves her very special friend of 22 years, Larry Richard, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Cricket also survive. Funeral service will be Thursday; 11 a.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St. W. with Rev. Stan Sawyer officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday; 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church 2615 Prairie College St. SW, Canton, Ohio 44706.
