Florence A. VanVoorhis, age 96, of Canton, died Sunday afternoon in Roselawn Terrace in Alliance after an extended illness. Born in East Canton to the late Wesley and Nellie (Hossler) Baker she had resided here most of her life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Oliver VanVoorhis, son Dale VanVoorhis granddaughter, Carol VanVoorhis and a grandson: Timothy Weisel. Survivors include a daughter: Mrs. Richard (Mary Elaine) Musisca of North Lawrence. Three sons: Victor (Janice) VanVoorhis of N. Canton, Grant (Patricia) VanVoorhis of East Canton, and Jay (Sandy) VanVoorhis of Canton. Nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. A private funeral service will be on Wednesday 11:00 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. Canton, OH 44702 with Mr. John S. Yatras officiating. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alliance Hospice 885 S. Sawburg Rd. Alliance, OH 44601.
