IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fanny Adelman
Slutzker
December 3, 1910 – January 15, 2007
Fanny Adelman Slutzker, age 96 of Canton, died on Monday January 15, 2007 at Windsor Medical Center. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends, for she was a truly dynamic, energetic person with a smile and positive greeting for everyone. She was born in Akron, Ohio on December 3, 1910, to Ben and Celia Atleson; one of 11 children. In 1935 she married Max Adelman and they settled in Canton, Ohio. They had three daughters, Barbara, Patty and Eileen "Adey". Love of family and people in general expresses Fanny's personality; everyone admired her upbeat attitude, sense of fun and ability never to tire even into her 90's. She devoted many years to volunteer work and held offices in National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah, Shaaray Torah and Brandies. As an active member of Temple Israel, Fanny particularly enjoyed the Stollen Moments study group. She was very well versed in world current events and took pleasure in financial planning. Fanny was one of the founders of the Senior Citizens Organization of the Canton Jewish Center and was honored with a luncheon for her work and the success of the group, still viable today. Bridge was a passion of Fanny's and she played actively with the Canton Bridge Club, Jewish Community Center Bridge Club and many groups socially. Her love of bridge extended into her 90's, as did walking the mall with her friend Venus. Fanny was preceded in death by her husband Max in 1962 and her second husband, Louis Slutzker. She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara (Larry) Goldberg, Patty (Robert L.) Nicholas and Eileen Hostetler (late husband Dennis). Grandchildren Scott (Jennette) Slutzker, Michael Slutzker, Marla Goldberg, Debby (Jon) Hemminger, Hyla (Nick) Guerierre and Matt and Julie Hostetler. There are 14 great grandchildren; Lindsey, Justin and Seleta Hemminger, Parker, Ella and Pierce Guerriere, Lee Hinson, Mitchell, Kevin, Leah, Madison and Bobby Slutzker and Samantha and Austin. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Fanny's dear friends, Sally Henning and George and Venus Tzangas for their devotion and friendship and to the entire staff at Windsor Medical Center, for their loving care. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 1:30 pm at North Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi John Spitzer officiating. A luncheon at the Temple Israel will be held after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Israel, 333-25th St., NW, Canton, OH 44709. (Arnold 330-456-7291) www.arnoldfuneralhome.com
