Evelyn A. Kaufman, age 94, of North Canton, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 in Aultman Compassionate Care after an extended illness. She was born in Akron to the late Thomas and Lydia (Miller) Weaver. Evelyn was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Canton, serving in various capacities including church council. She held memberships in Jaycee Auxiliary, Jr. Sorosis, Triosis Book Club, Jr. Sorosis Garden Club and a 75 year member of Zeta Tau Alpha. In addition to her parents Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, George Kaufman; brothers, Lowell (Helen) and Glenn (Doris) Weaver. Evelyn is survived by her children, John (Nancy) Kaufman, Kathy (James) Miller and Brian R. Kaufman; grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Whittington, Drew (Julie) Kaufman, Samantha (Rodd) Lane, Nathan Miller; great grandchildren, Paige, Logan, Lauren, Jacob, Cassidy, Tessa and Madelyn. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church, Canton with Rev. Darla Ann Kratzer officiating. Interment will be in St. Jacob's Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W. and one hour prior to the service in church on Thursday.
