Evelyn J. Hughes, age 95, of Canton died Friday morning in Forest Glen Health Campus in Springfield, OH. Born in Canton to the late Victor & Mabel (Rice) Maurer she was a 1935 graduate of McKinley High School. In addition to her parents Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Glenn R. Hughes in 2002, and a brother Richard. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Glenn & Nancy Hughes of Springfield. Two grandchildren: David (Gail) Hughes of Columbus and Shawn Hughes of Springfield. Three great and three great great grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 30, 2012 in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Avenue N.W. with Dr. William R. Harvey officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday.
