Eva Jean Yost, age 86, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the Canton Christian Home. Eva was born in Bethesda, Ohio on June 27, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Hubert and Mary (Shaver) Wood. She was a 1943 graduate of Bethesda High School and was a resident of the Canton and North Canton areas since 1949. Eva worked at Polsky's Department Store and retired from the Stark County Auditor's Office in 1986. Long time member of Northwest (Market Ave.) Church of Christ, she especially enjoyed studying the bible, quilting, traveling with her husband and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years John Yost and by her brother Roger Wood. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Jean and Dick Baughman of North Canton, son and daughter-in-law John and Carla Yost of Tucson, AZ; brothers Dean (Joan) Wood of Rochester, NY, John (Norma) Wood of Winston-Salem, SC, and sister Barbara Burkhart of Barnesville, OH. Eva was also blessed with four grandchildren, Patricia (Michael) Adams, Cynthia (Eric) Richards, Richard (Stacey) Baughman and Melanie Yost, and three great-grandchildren Nikole, Jackson and Carson. The family would like to thank everyone at the Canton Christian Home for their care and kindness. Friends may call Friday from 6-9:00 pm and Saturday from 10-11:00 am in the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Keith Kull officiating. Interment in North Canton Cemetery.
