Ethel Wander It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel B. Wander 70, of Westerville, Ohio on December 24, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She will forever be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Ethel is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Lillian Loden of Canton. Ethel graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1960 where she was a National Honor Society student. She attended The Ohio State University, earning a BS in education in 1964. Ethel taught fourth and fifth grade students in the Cincinnati Public School System before returning to her hometown of Canton in 1969. She later served as a Human Services Supervisor in Stark County for 31 years until her retirement in 2001. She was a member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue for over 50 years. Ethel's devotion to her family, friends, profession, and community will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. Ethel is survived by her son Michael, daughter in law Julie, and grand daughter Leah Teresa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kobacker House in Columbus, The Stephanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research, or your local Humane Society.
