Estella Josephine Dueber Vail Frederick age 98, died Tuesday afternoon July 6, 2010. The second of two daughters, she was born August 1, 1911 in Canton to Albert M. Dueber and Jennie Hollinshead and named in honor of her Aunt Estella Dueber Joliet and her uncle, Joseph Dueber. "Joe" grew up in Chicago and Washington D.C. where she was schooled at the Georgetown Visitation Convent and graduated from Gunston Hall. She returned to Canton, Ohio in 1931 to marry Robert Frazer Vail on February 17, 1931. Married for fifty-nine years they had two children, Johanna Vail Kebabian now living in Vermont and Robert Frazer Vail, Jr. of Canton. "Joe" was active in Children's Mission, later the Junior League of Canton, but her great love was the Players Guild when it was housed in the Carriage House of the Case Mansion. Widowed in 1990, in 1994 "Joe" was happily but far to briefly married to Richard Lane Frederick. She is survived by her two children, nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren living from coast to coast. A memorial service will be held Friday September 24th, 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Barbara Bond officiating. A reception will follow the service.
