Worshil, Esenta Age 94, of Palm Springs, California passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Esenta (Kail) Worshil was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1914. During her many years in Canton, she found much joy and pride in her work in the Jewish community as President of Hadassah, Chairman of Women's Division of UJA, and Secretary of the Canton Jewish Center for nine years. She and her husband, Nathan moved to Palm Springs, California in 1971. In the tradition of giving, Esenta was a board member of the Desert Hospital, Secretary/Treasurer of Diamonds of the Desert, Jewish Welfare Federation, Board Founder of Cerebral Palsy, Israeli Tennis Association and American Friends of Hebrew University. She was a member of Brandeis, B'nai Brith, Make-a-Wish Commission, Stoke Center and ORT as well as the Canyon Country Club. She achieved the highest honor from the City of Hope being named Woman of the Year in 1990. Esenta and Nathan cherished their years together as world travelers. Esenta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathan Worshil in 1977; granddaughter, Marcy in 1990. She is survived by daughter, Loreen (Neal) Libster of Canton; son, David (Beverly) Worshil of Canton; daughter, JoAnn (Tom) Hornsten of Mercer Island, Washington. Esenta was truly blessed with 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements furnished by Arnold Funeral Home with services being held at Shaaray Torah Synagogue Monday at 1 PM. Donations can be made to The City of Hope, Palm Springs, California Chapter.
