Emmeline Julia Schumacher, age 11, of North Canton, passed away on July 2, 2013 at home. She had just completed fourth grade at Lake Center Christian School in Hartville and was a regular attender at First Friends Church in Canton. Having survived a brain tumor in infancy, Emmeline graciously endured the long-term side effects of treatment. Five months ago she was diagnosed with a radiation-induced brain stem tumor. The family is grateful to her numerous doctors at Akron Children's, St. Jude, and Rainbow Babies. They are grateful to the Lord for His love, compassion, and grace that have sustained them through the years. Emmeline will be most remembered for her passion for making handcrafted greeting cards. Many might remember her as the girl whose lifelong dream of owning a card shop was realized on June 1, 2013, as she presided over her own shop for a day, called Emmeline's Cards & More. The family is grateful to Debbie Jagger and the community who made this dream a reality. Many may also remember her for her Loaves and Fishes school project in which she raised thousands of dollars to help a missionary family in need. The school, church, local community, and friends around the world have shown overwhelming support through prayer and practical expressions of love. The family thanks Wishes Can Happen for the treasured memories made at Disney World. Emmeline is survived by her loving parents, Jeff and Julia (Fawcett) Schumacher; five younger siblings, Simeon, Sadie, Lillian, Isaac and Samuel. Grandparents; Ron and Donna Schumacher of the Philippines, and Bill and Mary Fawcett of Brazil. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, in First Friends Church 5455 Market Ave. N. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Church. Please sign the guest book.
