Obituary
Emil E. Graves, age 92, of Canton, passed away Wednesday afternoon after a brief illness. Born in Bridgeport, WV to the late Chesley and Margaret (Hartman) Graves, he has resided here most of his life. Emil was a Marine Corp. veteran having served in WW II. He retired after 38 years from the Ford Motor Company, was a member of VFW 3747, the Marine Corp League, the Elks and the American Legion Post 44. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Joyce Kiefer; son, Jon; two sisters; a brother and a granddaughter. Emil is survived by three daughters, Joan (Rev. Dr. Stan) Anderson of Carrollton, OH, Lynn (Thomas) Sells and Patricia (Rick) Halda both of Canton; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W. with Rev. Dr. Stan Anderson and Chaplain CPT Jonathan W. Anderson (grandson) officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: VFW 3747, 1935 Avalon Avenue N.E., Canton, Ohio 44705. Please sign the guest book.
