Elwood (Wake) L. Wakefield Wake left this earthly world for everlasting peace and freedom from pain on Friday, September 14, 2007, after a long valiant fight with lung disease. Elwood was the son of Walter and Hazel Wakefield. He was born and raised in West Endfield, Maine. As a young man he worked with his father and brother in the logging industry when a team of horses were used to haul the logs out of the woods. Wake worked hard all his life at places such as Spun Steel, Reels Pie Shop, Superior Dairy and several trucking companies. After retiring in 1980, he spent his summers at the family cottage in Maine. There he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Elwood was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the local truckers' union Ohio Chapter of the American Legion, Trinity Lodge # 710 F & AM, and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Canton.
