Obituary

Elmer P. Lautenschlager, age 90, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Born to the late Edward and Verna Lautenschlager of Stone Creek, Ohio. He was a US Army veteran of WWII serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Battle of the Bulge. Elmer retired from the Timken Company and was a member of Northwest Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ellen. Sons Dennis Lautenschlager of W. Columbia, SC, Elmer Lautenschlager (Judy), Vaughn Holshu (Roberta) all of Canton, Floyd (Sarah) Holshu of Williamstown, WV, Larry (Mary) Holshu of Midlothian, VA, Daughter; Sharon Tolley of Canton, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, sisters; Arlene Root of VA, Sarah Little of CO, sister-in-law- Nancy Wyler of Westlake, OH and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone for the special care Elmer received; Dr. Michael Tirmania and Staff, Canton Regency both skilled and assisted living units, Great Lakes Caring/Palliative Care and Hospice, Minister Keith Kull and the Northwest Church of Christ. Thanks to all for the calls, cards, special hugs; God Bless You! Funeral service will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW with Minister Keith Kull officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
