Elmer M. Gingerich, 96, of Uniontown, passed on to his heavenly home, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born April 21, 1918 in Ford, Kansas to Moses J. and Lydia (Stutzman) Gingerich. He was a retired building contractor. He was a charter member of Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church where he served for many years as an ordained deacon. He is survived by his wife, Fannie (Miller) Gingerich, whom he married June 23, 1946; children, Paul (Esther) of Hartville, Mark (Norma) of Peru, South America, David (Alice) of Uniontown, Mary (Kenneth) Weber of Nova Scotia, Elizabeth (Arnold) Weber of Ontario, Samuel (Marybeth) of Bourbon, IN and James (Nora) of Guys Mills, PA. He has 40 surviving grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Verna Gingerich and a brother, Moses Jr. both of Hartville, sister, Betty Troyer of Harrisonburg, VA and sister, Anna Sommers of Coshocton. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are brothers Jonas Gingerich, Noah Gingerich, John Gingerich and one sister Elizabeth Gingerich. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church, 10547 Market Ave. Hartville. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
