Obituary

Elmer James Brown (Brownie), age 84 of Canton died Thursday morning at Roselane Health Center after an extended illness. Born in Ludlow, KY to the late Foster and May Brown. He was a retired owner of Miracle Plumbing and Heating. Elmer served in the South Pacific with the Navy Seabees. A member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, Canton Lodge #60 F & AM, AASR Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple, Shrine Caravaners, Canton Master Plumbers- past president, American Legion #44 and Floyd Hughes Post V.F.W. Survivors include his wife Mary Jane Spiker Brown of 60 years, Daughter Shirley (Jerome) Pruett of Jackson Twp., Son Steven J. (Cathy)Brown of Canton, 4 Grandchildren: Jerome (Tammie) Pruett, Derek Pruett, Kyle (Andrea) Brown and Courtney (Josh) Anderson, 4 Great-grandchildren: Abbi, Audrey, Ava and Hannah, 2 Sisters: Betty Brown of N.J. and Jeri (Donald) Richardson of CA. Services will be on Monday at 11AM with Rev.C. David Morgan at the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., NW. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church 1525 Shorb Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44703 or Children's Transportation, Tadmor Shrine Center 3000 Krebs DR. Akron, OH 44319.
