Ellen T. Dinar, age 75, of Canton passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2018. She was born in Newport News, Virginia on February 5, 1943 to the late George and Lenore (Oslander) Tolstoi. She graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. On a vacation to Israel she met Nimrod Dinar. They married June 11, 1967 in the United States and moved to Israel for 3 years. When returning, they lived in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and they welcomed their two children Jessica and Dan Dinar. In 1979, they made their home in Canton.

She was a restaurant manager for Marshall Field Department Store in Chicago and also regional manager for Post Houses Division of Greyhound Bus Company.

When young, Ellen was a girl scout and later volunteered with her daughter's troop. She was a volunteer for Mercy Medical Center and Mansfield General Hospital. The majority of time she devoted to being a loving wife and mother. She spent a lot of time in the garden enjoying flowers, shrubbery and landscaping. She was a faithful shopper at Target and Giant Eagle Stores.

She is survived by her husband Nimrod; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Steve Sullivan of Colorado and son Dan Dinar of Canton; sister Linda Tolstoi and brother Harvey Tolstoi both of Uniontown, PA; and 4 legged daughter Abbie.

Calling hours are Monday 1-2 PM at Arnold Funeral Home, 1517 Market Ave. N, Canton. A graveside service will be Monday 2:30 PM at North Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi Jon Adland officiating. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family expresses appreciation to all Ellen's doctors and nurses for her care.
