Elizabeth G . Zingler age 88 of North Canton, Ohio died Saturday Oct 4,2014 following a stroke. Born May 15, 1926 in new Bethlehem, Pa. to Verle G. Gahagan and Margaret Hoffman Gahagan, she lived her childhood years in Brady Lake, Ohio. A Graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School, she attended Hiram College then graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Education. She taught 28 years in Stark County schools retiring in 1981 from Jackson Local Schools. Betty is survived by four daughters and one son-in-law: Becca and Jon Rice, Deb Lea of North Canton, Ohio, Holly Jeffries of Ladson, South Carolina and Nancy Cowgill of Carrollton, Texas; Nine grandchildren: Colin Rice, Lindsay Rice De Frances, Ned and Eric Lea, Jena Rhea, Justin Jeffries, CJ Cowgill, Koty Cowgill and KC Cowgill; plus 11 great grandchildren . Betty was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and she served on the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Home Commission. She was an active member of Stark County Retired Teachers, DAR, College Club, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, Trirosis, Meals on Wheels. Betty donated her body to Cleveland Clinic for medical research.
