Elizabeth (Betty) J. Pritz, age 90, of Canton, passed away Sunday evening October 21, 2007 at the Canton Regency. She was born April 2, 1917 in Millersburg to the late Joshua Laird and Bessie (Hubbard) Kennedy. Elizabeth graduated from Millersburg High School and attended Ohio State University. She was a charter member of The Church of the Lakes where she participated with Meals on Wheels, taught Sunday school, was president of the Women's Society, was a member of the Alter Guild Committee, and as needed, played the organ on Sundays. She was a certified Braille writer and transcribed many books. Betty was also an accomplished weaver. Preceded in death by her husband Jerry G. Pritz in 1992, son Lawrence Grant Pritz in 1971, granddaughter Katharine Mullin in 1992, son-in-law Robert Thurber in 2007, two sisters and a brother, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Carol and Wayne Kyhos of Canton, Judy Thurber of Greenhurst, NY, Chris and Jeff Mullin of Oldenburg, IN, son and daughter-in-law Kurt and Connie Pritz of Westerville, OH, sister Marjorie Bird of Millersburg, OH, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in The Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church with Pastor Bryan George officiating. Private family committal services will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. The family will receive friends an hour and a half prior to the services (9:30 – 11:00am) at the church.
