Elizabeth R. Newland, 81, of Perry Township, passed away on June 30, 2024, after declining health. She was born on May 23, 1943, in Wise County, Virginia, to the late Robert and Mae (Smith) Wells. She was a graduate of the former Timken High School. Elizabeth worked for Timken Steel and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed travelling which included RV trips and even train rides, visiting countless places all over the U.S. Elizabeth loved taking her son Eric with her and together they made many memories that he will always hold close to his heart. She also enjoyed music, visiting Amish country, and was an avid cat lover throughout her life. Elizabeth leaves behind her loving son, Eric (Kelly) Newland; grandchildren, Karac, Joshua, Emma Newland, Tyce Ohler, John Flory II and Alexis Flory; 2 great-grandsons, Daniel Brady and Zane Newland; dear friends, Peter and Mary Crombie and Kaitlyn Griffith; as well as her former husband, Frederick Newland, who still cared for her deeply to the very end. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held.
