Elizabeth D. Keeper, age 93, of Green, passed away on Thursday evening November 3, 2011 in the comfort of her daughter's home. She was born in Liverpool, England on March 5, 1918 and raised in Golders Green, London. She served in The National Fire Service during WW II. She came to the United States in 1951 where she met her future husband Frank. Liz was a stay at home mother who volunteered for Good Neighbors for 40 plus years. She served as secretary for The East Akron Board of Trade and became their first female president. She was a long time member of Uniontown United Methodist Church active with United Methodist Women, Chancel Choir and Bell Choir. A favorite memory for family and friends will always be of Elizabeth reading The Christmas Story from the Book of St. Luke. She was active in several community theatres and was a founding member of Lake Players. She received awards from United Way and the Masons for her many hours of volunteer service. Preceded in death by her husband Frank and brother Francis Carr of Alliance. She is survived by her children Richard and Joan Keeper of Canton and Susan and Kenneth Yoder of Hartville; grandchildren Megan (fiancé Tyler Moncrief) Keeper, Ryan Keeper, Jason and Ryann Yoder and Matthew Yoder; other relatives and friends. Calling hours are Sunday 4-7 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services are Monday 11 AM in Uniontown United Methodist Church with Rev George Bender and Rev Grace Berlo officiating. Calling hours are Monday one hour prior to the service in the church 10-11 AM. Final resting place is Ft. Laurens Cemetery in Bolivar.
