Elinor Alberta Cook, of Canton. Born on March 15, 1914, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2008 in the Canton Christian Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Cook and an older sister, Mildred Kodger. Elinor was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Canton for over 60 years, where she sang in the choir for 30 years. She also volunteered at the church's clothing ministry, Myasthenia Gravis Organization and Meals on Wheels. Elinor's career began at Frease and Bishop in Canton where she was an executive secretary for patent attorneys. After 24 years with the firm she worked for the Hoover Company for 10 years. Elinor enjoyed traveling abroad and in this country. She also enjoyed her dogs, especially Honey. Her POA wishes to acknowledge the staff at Canton Christian Home for their love and care shown to Elinor, especially in the Nursing Care Unit. Special thank-yous are extended to the late Vicki DiAmbrocia, Nurse Debbie, aide Gary, Kim and Linda. Funeral service will be Wednesday 9:00 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St. W. with Rev. Wendy Bausman officiating. A private interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
