Eileen Welshimer, age 89 of North Canton, passed away Tuesday evening in the Windsor Medical Center. Born in Canton to the late Leroy & Mary (Brady) Luke she was educated in the Canton Schools and graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Terra Haute, IN. Mrs. Welshimer was a long time member of First Christian Church. She had also been active with the Canton Woman's Club, Arboretum Garden Club of which she was past president, Congress Lake Garden Club, Junior League of Canton, McDowell Club, College Club and was a charter member of The National Museum of Women of the Arts. For many years she volunteered at both Aultman and Timken Mercy Hospitals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph H. Welshimer in 1992. She is survived by a daughter: Paula Locklair (Dan) of North Carolina, a son, Mark Welshimer (Rosanne) of New York and two granddaughters Courtney and Whitney Welshimer. A brother Richard Luke (Florence), a niece Karen Roth (John), and nephews David (Sheila) and Brian (Becky) Luke also survive. A private service will be on Thursday, December 29, 2011, with Rev. Jeffrey E. Bullock of First Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
