Eileen M. McDonald, age 92, of Canton, passed away comfortably at her home with her family by her side on August 6th. She was born December 21, 1928 in Louisville, Ohio to Eugene and Anna (Coyle) Sunday and is a graduate of Massillon High School. Eileen worked at Timken Roller Bearing and at Timken Mercy Hospital but really focused on her family and home. She was an avid quilter who designed and made dozens of quilts for family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards with her euchre club girl friends. When she was cooking she often said "this is how mama made it". Eileen and Bill traveled to Florida where they owned a vacation home and also traveled to Mexico, Puerto Rico, and their favorite which was Ireland. She was a Notre Dame football fan who never missed a game on tv.
Eileen is preceeded in death by her husband Bill; grandson Jason; siblings Faye, Robert, Norma, and Pauline. She is survived by her son Bill, daughter Nancy both of Medina; her sister Nancy of Canton; her grandchildren Kevin (Catrine), Kelcy (Ryan) and Daniel; great grandchildren Andrew and Kirstin.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday August 10th at Arnold & Spiker-Foster-Shriver from 4 pm to 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 11, at 10 am at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with the Very Reverend John E. Sheridan, STL officiating. Final resting place will be St. John's Cemetery.
