Edward G. Pennell, age 98, of Canton, was welcomed into Glory Monday evening August 25, 2014 in the comfort of his family. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 26, 1916. He retired from Keebler after 39 years of service. His service to the Lord over the years was as a Deacon, Trustee, Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and as a Lay Minister. Ed was a Charter member of Grace Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 18 years Gerri (Anderson) Pennell; children Gary (Iva Mae) Pennell of East Canton, Patty (Robert) Shott of Canton, Ed (Linda) Pennell of Canton Elaine (Jim) Weber of Aurora; step-children Bill (Sandra) Anderson of Michigan, Gary (Barbara) Anderson of Grafton, Vicki (Ted) Fryfogle of Canton, Crystal (Chuck) Spicer of Arizona; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren, 21 step-great grandchildren; sister Betty Merritt of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Mary Pennell; and four siblings. Calling hours are Thursday 6-8 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home Canton and an hour prior to services Friday in the church (10-11 AM). Funeral services are Friday 11 AM at Grace Baptist Church at 5050 Middlebranch Ave NE, Canton, OH 44705 with Pastor David Ryan officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Burial Park.
