Obituary

Edna Detweiler-Coblentz, age 97, of Hartville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home. She was born February 28, 1915 in Shipshewana, Indiana to the late John I. and Barbara (Miller) Bontrager. She was a member of the Pinecraft Amish Church in Sarasota, Florida, where she was a winter resident. She lived next door to her daughter Mrs. Allen (Laura) Sommers in Hartville, Ohio. She loved to quilt and crochet and gave many quilts and afghans to her family members. Edna was married to Monroe Detweiler on December 9, 1937. They lived in matrimony for 36 years. Monroe died March 20, 1974. On May 14, 1978 she was married to Menno Coblentz. They lived in matrimony 15 years. He died August 13, 1993. She is survived by her children, Laverne (Ila) Detweiler of Sarasota, FL, Mrs. Raymond (Ramona) Detweiler of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Elsie Anderson of Sarasota, Florida, Harold (Debbie) Detweiler of Rawlins, Wyoming, Lester (Karen) Detweiler of Sarasota, Florida, Laura (Allen) Sommers of Hartville, OH, James (Laurie) Detweiler of Townville, Pennsylvania; 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; two sisters Ida Hershberger and Lydia Mae Kauffman both of Goshen, Indiana; stepsons Emanuel, Raymond, Jonas, Henry, Eli and Wallace Coblentz; step-daughters Nancy Coblentz, Anna Schwartz, Amanda Raber and Esther Ranalli; and many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 sons Wilbur and Raymond Detweiler; two grandchildren; 6 brothers and 4 sisters; and step-son Daniel Coblentz. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hartville Mennonite Church. Funeral services are Saturday 10 AM at Hartville Mennonite Church. Final resting place is Oak Grove Cemetery.
