Edmund C. Shanofski, age 85, of Canton, passed away Sunday evening surrounded by his loving family. He was born in McKeesport, PA to the late Isadore and Joan (Zlomaniec) Shanofski. Edmund was a Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, Member of VFW Post 3747, Wm. McKinley Lodge No. 431, F & A.M. and the Louisville American Legion Post 548. He was a man with a great sense of humor who enjoyed lots of laughter, a history buff, loved flying private planes and traveling to Europe to visit family in Poland. Edmund is survived by his loving children: Lori (Thomas) Minger , Nancy DiPietro all of North Canton and Steven (Milica) Shanofski of North Royalton. Grandchildren: Rachael and Austin DiPietro, Ian and Anna Shanofski. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW. with Wm. McKinliney Lodge No. 431, F & A.M. and Ed Evans. Interment with Military Honors will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
