Dorothy "Eleanor" Manse, age 94, of Canton, passed away peacefully in her home Friday morning. Born in Canton to the late Fred and Alma (Brown) Schmidt, she was a life resident. Eleanor was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School, she enjoyed reading and word find puzzles. She retired in 1980 from Morrow Control and Supply Company after sixteen years of service. Eleanor was a former member of First Christian Church and member of AARP. She made her home with her daughter, Donna and son-in-law, Jim for the past 16 years. The family would like to thank Dr. M. Lengyel and the Grace Hospice Staff for the loving care they gave her. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband William on January 31, 1995, they were married 56 years. Siblings; Lester, Donald, Roger, Robert and Harry Schmidt, sisters; Evelyn Behrendt and Arlene Moore also preceded her. She is survived by daughters; Donna (James) Wilson of Canton, Judith (Dan) Wilson of Dunedin, Florida and son William Manse, Jr. of Canton. 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service and interment will be private for the family.
