Dorothy L. August, age 82, of Greentown, passed away Thursday afternoon in St. Luke Lutheran home. She was born July 17, 1925 in Columbiana, Ohio to Alvin and Effie (Bair) Knopp. She was a member of Akron Baptist Temple. Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George R. August in 2003, daughter, Donna Jean Miller in 2001 and an infant daughter, Janice Arlene. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Ernie Johnson of Greentown, son-in-law Donald Miller of Hartville; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Mary August of Hartville; sister, Ruth Emch of Woodville, Ohio; brothers, and sister-in-law, Warren and Lois Knopp of Columbiana, Ohio, Homer Knopp Canby, Oregon; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Hope Cemetery in Salem, Ohio. Calling hours will be Monday 6-8:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville.
