Doris Ratner Nemeroff was etched into The Book of Life on Thursday, May 11 surrounded by her family. Doris, aged 70 years, was survived by sister Helene (Yves) Zaragoza, daughters Michelle (Aaron), and Randi (Aaron), as well as granddaughter Izabella.

She was born on July 29, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Jamaica High School in Queens where she grew up. She went on to study nursing at King's County Medical School where she obtained her Registered Nurse certification.

From there served as both an emergency room nurse and then an operating room nurse in various hospitals both in the Five Boroughs and Northeast Ohio area before retiring early in 2002.

She moved from New York in 1982 to spend a year in St. Louis, MO for year before setting in the Akron area. She had a love for traveling across the globe, adding to her extensive collection of mice figurines and collective spoons along the way. Many a weekend would find her at various markets, malls, and shoppes looking for exotic items and spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday May 15, 2017 at 4:30pm at the home of Michelle Kaback, 4188 Magnolia Drive, Brunswick, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Temple Israel in Canton, Ohio or to the National Autism Association in honor of her granddaughter.
