Donna M. Border, age 98, passed away December 19, 2009 in Iowa City, Iowa, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Born in Canton to the late William and Elizabeth (Sterganz) Cochenour, Donna was a lifelong resident of Canton, a 1928 graduate of McKinley High School and an active member and founder of Westbrook Park United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband David E. Border, sister; Mildred DuPont and daughter, Diane L. Hawkins. She is survived by her son, David Wayne Border of Phoenix, Arizona, and 4 grandchildren; Andrew Hawkins of Parker, Colorado, Michael Hawkins of Marina del Rey, California, Diane Mitchell of Phoenix, Arizona and Steve Border of Arizona. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, 11:45 A.M. in North Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Reese officiating.
