Dorothy Mae (Johnson) Finefrock. Born November 23, 1923, passed away early Wednesday morning January 14, 2009 in Strongsville, Ohio. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio and raised in Weirton, West Virginia by her adoptive parents, Alverta and John Oliver. Moved to Canton, Ohio and met her husband, Roy, while both worked at Citizens Savings in Canton in 1948. Roy and Dorothy married in 1949. Lived until 2005 in North Canton, Ohio. Preceded in death by husband Roy in 2004 after 54 years of marriage. Also preceded in death by Alverta and John Oliver, Sisters Dorothy McGaw and Betty Jean, daughter Karen Sue and grandson, Shawn Eckes. Survivors who cherish her memory include her twin daughters, Eileen Eckes of Strongsville Ohio and Elaine and Michael Losego of Columbus. Granddaughter Meredith and son-in-law Greg Heitkamp of Columbus. Former son-in-law Chris Eckes. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and sister in law and brother in law William and Dorothy Fromm. Survived by cousin Gracie Mitchell of Weirton and niece, Pat (Ron) Moffat. Also survived by close friends from Good Shepherd Lutheran church where she and Roy experienced much joy and love and were charter members. Funeral service will be 12 noon, Saturday January 17th, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert P. Sander officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 11a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service. Interment will be at North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4120 Cleveland Ave. N.W. Canton, OH. 44709.
