Delores J. Harris

Delores Jean Harris (affectionately known as “Jean”), 85 of Canton, Ohio passed away on February 26, 2026.

Jean was born on December 14, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Catherine Edwards.

Jean was a homemaker a majority of her life and raised 4 of her own children and 2 of her grandchildren.

Jean never met a stranger and her infectious laugh brought joy to everyone she met. She enjoyed playing bingo and poker and jive talking with any and everyone. She was an animal lover who loved and cared for many dogs throughout her life. She loved her dog Nutmeg whom she raised from a puppy and is now 17 years old.

Jean leaves behind a large family, oldest daughter Teresa Allen and oldest son Richard Anderson (Alexis), and many grandchildren including the two she raised, Lareka Anderson-Ojuko and Melody Ferguson (David). Jean also had many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Jean also leaves behind many friends, too many to count. She was so dearly loved by everyone.

Jean is preceded in death by her father and mother, James and Catherine Edwards, her loving husband James Harris, her twin brother James Edwards, her younger brother William Edwards, her sister Betty Howard, her youngest son Steven Anderson, and her youngest daughter Sharon Deberry.
