Delbert Borntrager, age 73, of Massillon, passed away Monday morning, February 1, 2016 in the Autlman Compassionate Care Center. He was born March 20, 1942 in Canton to Abner and Fannie (Fry) Borntrager. Delbert graduated from Mt. Vernon Academy and attended Malone College. He was an independent property manager and had also worked in auto sales for Meyers Ford and Schoner Chevrolet in Hartville and was a driver Enterprise. Mr. Borntrager was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed golfing, fishing in Canada and especially the family trips to the Lake Erie Islands.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary; daughters, Renee Bischoff of Bakersfield, California, Lisa (Greg) Beaufait of Jackson Township; sons Randall Borntrager of Canton, Andrew (Sheyenne) Borntrager of East Canton; sisters Millie (George) Wiley, Ruth Wilson, Naomi (Larry) Witmer, Marty (Jim) Miller; brothers, Paul Bontrager, Dave (Marilyn) Borntrager, James (Kathy) Borntrager and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Richard and a daughter, Kelly Morris.
A memorial service will be held Friday 12:00 noon in Maple Grove Mennonite Church with Pastor Dave Hall officiating and the family will receive friends one half hour prior to services (11:30-noon). Interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery with Military Honors, Friday 10:30 a.m. (Arnold-Hartville 330-877-9364)
