Dean Byers of Tampa Florida passed away Thursday April 24,2014 following a brief illness. Dean was born in Canton, Ohio on September 1, 1957 to the late Jack and Shirley(Coleman) Byers. He attended Lehman High School and moved with his family to Tampa, Florida where he attended and was a proud graduate of Hillsborough Senior High School. Dean graduated from The University of South Florida with a degree in education and later received his masters in reading education from Nova Southeastern University. He dedicated his life to education as a teacher and most recently an assistant principal in the Hillsborough County School System. Dean always brought a smile to everyone's life. He was a funny guy and his wit will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and co-workers. He described himself as "an easy going guy as long as the going is my way". His favorite thing in life was traveling. Dean especially loved cruises in the Caribbean and is responsible for many people becoming addicted to cruising. Words cannot express how much he will be missed by his favorite sister Marilyn (Byers) Barr (Jeffrey) of Canton, Ohio, brother Steven Byers (Patty)of Land of Lakes, Florida, and his numerous nieces and nephews. Dean, like his brothers, John and Todd Byers, departed too soon, with many good things left to contribute. A Celebration of Dean's life will take place in Tampa, Florida at a later date.
