Dawna was born on June 21st, 1963 to parents Jan Brooks Ammerman and Donald Ammerman in Cincinnati, OH. She attended Perry High School in Massillon, OH. She met Thomas Nick Prokopchuk in 1980 and they wed that same year. They had two children, Jana Nicole and Adam Thomas. Dawna was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, at times working outside of the home as well. She and Tom later divorced and she then remarried Nathan Yoder in 2012. Dawna loved her family, going shopping, watching movies, playing board games,and a good meal surrounded by those she loved. Her favorite Bible verse was "Be still and know that I am God." May she rest in that beautiful tranquility now and always. Dawna was preceded in death by her adoptive father, Walter Mitchell. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband Nathan Yoder, mother Jan Mitchell, her children Jana (Robert) Hager and Adam (Rachel) Prokopchuk, her step-children Serena and Shane Yoder, her beautiful granddaughters Autumn Grace Hager and Sophia Grace Prokopchuk, and her Aunt and Uncle Lillian and Jeff Beckman. There will be no services held, at Dawna's request. The family asks that donations be made in memory of Dawna to St. Jude's Children's hospital to help support the fight in childhood cancer.
