David Lynn Unkefer, age 65, of the Hartville/Uniontown area passed away Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011 following a battle with cancer. He was born June 3, 1946 in Alliance to Charles and Marjorie (Oyster) Unkefer. He graduated from Marlington High School in 1964 and DeVry Tech in Chicago in 1967. David worked 33 years at Lockheed Martin (formerly Loral and Goodyear Aerospace). David was a proud member of T.O.P.S. #OH1632 in Marlboro. He spent the last 11 years traveling around the United States in a motor home with his wife and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anita and Tom Pontius. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Janet Legros. David is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon Arlene Unkefer; two daughters, Lora (Steve) Cassetty of Suffield, Linda (Del) Vannatter of Marlboro; son Wayne Unkefer and girlfriend Melissa Friez; 8 grandchildren, Hannah Nicole, Adam and John Cassetty, Austin and David Unkefer, Tyler, Aaron Jacob and Kalynn Vannatter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Legros, Tom and Anita Pontius, Larry and Charlene Straight, Leila and Butch Nemet and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Thursday 5-8:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville. Funeral Services will be Friday 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home, interment will be in New Baltimore Cemetery.
