"David Lee Poole (Just Plain Dave), born July 17, 1946, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Linda (Freedman) Poole, his daughter Jessica (Brian) Johnston, son Joshua (Viviane) Poole, grandchildren Ekena, Gabrielle, and Jacob Poole, his sisters Judith (Tom) Kerrigan, Linda Margo-McCarty, and Sherri, as well as brothers-in-law Harold Freedman, Sidney J. Freedman, Margo McGraw, Marc (Rifka) Freedman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A lifelong resident of Canton, Ohio, Dave graduated from Timken High School in 1965. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969. He worked for many years as an artist with Grady McCauley before ending his career as Director of Continuous Improvement at Gault Alloys.

Dave cherished his family, never missing an opportunity to express his love and pride. He enjoyed listening to music (always loudly) on his Alexa, playing backgammon with family and friends—never letting anyone win easily— and creating and appreciating all forms of art. His legacy lives on with family and friends, in his paintings and his wood carvings. 'Dada Be' loved his many trips to Madagascar (9 times!) and connected with the people and culture. His unforgettable smile, known to those he met all over the world, will continue to shine through everyone who knew him."

Memorial services will be held Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11 AM, at the Arnold Funeral Home at 1517 Market Ave N. with Cantor Bruce Braun officiating.
