David Glyn Peters, Sr., age 79, of North Canton, passed away suddenly Monday morning. Born in Canton to the late Ivor Clyde and Violet (Briscoe) Peters, David was best known for his wit, his love of traveling, and his extensive pencil collection. His grandchildren were the love of his life, and he enjoyed attending all of their activities. David was retired from the Timken Company. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Sylvia Peters; loving children, David Glyn (Barbara) Peters, Jr., Diana Lynn (Gregory) Sweitzer, Joyce Anne (Robert) Reolfi, and Jeffrey Scot Peters; loving grandfather of 9 and one great-granddaughter; brothers, Ivor Clyde Peters, Jr. and William Edward Peters; and a sister, Doris Ann Daughenbaugh, also survives. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home, 4817 Cleveland Ave. N.W. with Rev. Andrew Taylor Peck officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
