David G. Oby, Jr. passed away on October 7, 2022, at the age of 68 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was born in Canton, Ohio to Betsy W. and David G. Oby, Sr. on July 2, 1954. He graduated from North Canton Hoover High School, where he was a member of the swim team, and from the University of Akron. He was employed as a marketing director for AmeriMark for over 29 years.

He was a highly skilled model builder, loved to read, and was a huge fan of the Cleveland Guardians, Cavs, and Browns. In his final days and hours, he demonstrated great courage, as well as his marvelous sense of humor.

David is survived by his children, David Oby III, and Catherine Oby Parks (Shane), brother, Matthew Oby (Paula), sisters Mary Susan Oby Douglas (Samuel), and Kathryn Oby Maj (Richard), and nieces and nephews, Kim Oby Cartnick (Chris), Emily Oby, Claire Oby Factor (Kevin), Erin and Matthew Halbach, Samuel Maj (Lauren), Sarah Maj, Rebecca Maj Giaier (Kevin), and great-nieces and nephew, Sadie and Grace Cartnick, Haley and Amelia Factor, and Theodore and Lark Maj. He will be greatly missed by his family, who loved him so very much.
