May 31, 1928 – December 13, 2009
David Charles Meehan, age 81, will be celebrating Christmas in heaven with Jesus and his father; James, mother; Jean, brother; James Eugene, sister; Elaine Faith, grandson; David Franklin II, Robin and Daniel Hiller. He was surrounded by his family at home when he lost his battle with lung cancer on December 13, 2009. Survived by his devoted wife Barbara of 59 years, daughters Connie (John) Armour, Karen (David) Minor, son David (Cathy) Meehan, grandchildren; Karla (Matt) Ramsey, Kristen (Mike) Greathouse, Emily Minor, Michael, Isaiah and Nathaniel Meehan, his four great-grandchildren and nephew; Jim Hiller of California. Dave served our country in the Army 11th Airborne. He was well known in Stark and Tuscarawas counties for his television repair work. He retired from Republic Steel Metallurgic Department. He was an active member of Crosspointe (Firestone Road Baptist Church) for 44 years. He enjoyed umpiring softball for Canton City. A music lover, he played his organ and keyboard. His main joy was visiting nursing homes, hospitals and shut-ins where he often took his keyboard to play and sing. Golfing was a favorite hobby. He especially liked Oakwood County Club where he golfed with family and friends. Dave was a Godly devoted husband, father, and friend with a quick wit that we witnessed to the end. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM in the Louisville Baptist Temple with Pastor's Jake Ramey and Mike Harmon officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to Aultman Hospice 2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708.
