David Joseph Levin ("Davey") passed away November 6, 2010 at Roselane Health Center. He lived a full 86 years despite medical predictions that he would not make it into his 60's due to years of serious heart problems. He was born in Canton on March 22, 1925 to the late Elsie and Benjamin Levin, one of eight children. He attended Canton McKinley High School and served his country as a Merchant Marine in World War II. He worked as a salesman for many years at Canton Wood Products as well as Smithville Lumber, Downtown Motors and he later managed his own car lot. He was a member of Agudus Achim Synagogue, Shaaray Torah Synagogue, and Canton Ex-Newsboys. He also enjoyed socializing with his buddies and grandchildren at Donut Club. He especially liked watching sports and played on several fumble ball and bowling leagues. He loved challenging everyone to a serious badminton and ping pong tournament, especially the neighborhood children and his nieces and nephews. He always loved telling jokes and was known for the various pranks that he played on people. If asked what his favorite hobby was during his later years, his reply was always "being with my grandchildren".
