David L. Kirkby, age 86, of North Canton, passed away Monday morning in Windsor Medical Center. Born in Holland, NY to the late David Harris and Isabelle (Major) Kirkby. David was an Army veteran serving as a drummer in 101st Airborne Division Band. He owned and operated Service Master of Canton. David was a member of the North Canton Community Christian Church and the Greater Canton Men's Chorus. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth and a son, James Kirkby. He is survived by sons, David (Brenda) Kirkby, Jr. of St. Charles, IL and Jeffrey H. (Debra) Kirkby of Lakewood, OH. Grandchildren: Jeanette Kirkby, David Kirkby, Melissa Nash and James Kirkby. Great-grandchildren, Liam Nash and Stella Aubry. Siblings; Ted Kirkby, Nina Jean Rhoades and Jerry Kirkby also survive. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the North Canton Community Christian Church with Rev. Sarah Taylor Peck officiating. Friends may call Sunday 12:30 to 2:30 in the church. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to North Canton Community Church 210 N.
