November 28, 1949 — March 30, 2026

Canton

David A. Fornash, 76, of Canton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1949, in Buckhannon, West Virginia to the late Charles and Veda (Arnold) Fornash.

Dave was a 1968 graduate of McKinley High School and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He dedicated 30+ years to the Timken Company, specifically in the Gambrinus Roller Bearing Division.

Dave was a man of deep faith, whose life was shaped by his love for Christ and constant devotion and attendance to his lifelong church, The Apostolics of Canton.

He had an unwavering commitment to his wife Betty, sharing life’s adventures together for 52 loving years and often referring to her as his Cinderella.

Dave was a man of many interests and found joy in riding his Harley Davidson and had a passion for martial arts even earning his 2nd degree blackbelt.

But faith, family, and freedom were the values he truly believed in until the very end.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother Rod, sister Sandy and niece Candice.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty (Carman) Fornash; sister Carol (Ric) Jenkins; sister-in-law Barbara (Bob) Kraus, brothers-in-law James (Jane) Carman and Kenny Carman; nieces and nephews, Amy (Dan) Shearer, Andy (Brandi) Hann, Amanda (Steve) Robinson who considered him more of a father than an uncle; as well as many other treasured nieces and nephews, whom he loved deeply.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 7th from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at The Apostolics of Canton, 901 Dueber Ave. SW, Canton, Ohio, 44706.

A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the church followed by burial at Union Cemetery in Louisville where military rites will be rendered.

The family would like to give special thanks to Roselane Health Care Center for all their care and compassion during Dave’s stay.
