David J. Eckroate, age 70, of Canton, passed away Thursday morning in Mercy Medical Center. David was born in Canton, Ohio to the late John and Lena (Michelini) Eckroate, he was a life resident of Canton. David was a Timken Vocational High School graduate and editor of the 1959 year book. As a journalist David was an honored member of the Quill and Scroll Society. He is survived by his brother; Ronald and sisters; Elaine, Marcia, Doreen and Francine, nieces; Lisa, Valerie, Laura and Elizabeth, great nephews; Christian and Joshua and great niece Lauren also survives. The family wishes to thank Mercy Medical Center's physicians and staff for their outstanding care. A private service for the family was held with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
