David A. Christman, age 63 of Hartville, passed away Monday morning July 10, 2006 in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Canton on August 19, 1942 to the late John and Betty (Jones) Christman. He was a 1960 graduate of Glenwood High School and attended American Technical Institute. He began his career first as a draftsman for Monarch Rubber Co. and was currently a Senior Engineer for Aircraft Braking Systems for the past 40 years. Through the years, David had enjoyed bowling, bow shooting, dirt bike riding and golfing. A former member of Goodyear Foreman's Club, he belonged to the Briar Hill Hunting and Fishing Club. When in the Jay-Cee's, David and the club hosted the first Halloween parades in Hartville. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and an accomplished Chevy performance engine builder. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nancy; daughter and son-in-law, Schelly and Ron Baluch of Hartville; grandsons whom he adored, Braeden, David and Ethan; sisters, Daun Williams of Barberton, Dana Mears (Jim Pritz) of North Canton, Darla (James) Schmeltzer of New Baltimore, MI; brother, Dac Christman (Bernice Kibler) of North Canton; mother-in-law, Dixie Kline of Hartville; and other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville. Funeral services are Thursday 11 AM in the Hartville Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Fair officiating.
