David Michael Bowen, born October 22, 1961 in Killeen, Texas and passed away September 1, 2017 at the age of 55 of natural causes in Affinity Hospital in Massillon, Ohio. David was a class of '79 Glenoak High School graduate and attended both Bowling Green State University and Kent State University as an undergraduate in Business Administration. He was employed by Labor Ready as a Market Recruiting Coordinator. David was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Helen Bowen and Ernest and Irene Hammond; and a brother, Dirk Bowen. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Lee Hammond Medley of Mission, Texas; father, William Ralph (Dorothy) Bowen, Jr.; brother, Douglas Allen (Dawn) Bowen; nephew, Kalen (Sarah) Bowen; four step-brothers; numerous nieces, nephews and his dog, Roxie. David had many friends and was active in the Players Guild, Arts in Stark, First Fridays, loved reading, cooking and baking. His cookies at Christmas were special! David was a collector of cook books and Longaberger baskets. He wanted to be remembered fondly as a prankster and a joker, someone who left you with a smile when you were down and a hug when you needed it most. "Most of all, remember me with love."
