Daniel P. Yoder 87 of Alliance went home to be with the Lord Tuesday September 18, 2007 at Alliance Community Hospital with various health issues. He was born in Burton, Ohio January 14, 1920 to the late Phineas and Susan (Miller) Yoder. He married Emma (Sommers) July 6, 1940. Dan was a retired custodian of Lake High School. He is survived by three children, William Yoder of Alliance, Ray (Laura) Yoder of Uniontown, Marvin (Debbie) Yoder of Allaince; 11 grandchildren: William (Lisa) Yoder of Alliance, Karen (Don) Stutzman of PA, Emma (Ed) Sterling of MO, Teresa (Bruce) Morrison of Randolph, Loretta (Mike) Gorby of Rogers, OH, Marlene (Leon) Coblentz of Hartville, Sharlene (Dale) Raber of Goshen, IN, Mike (Wendy) Byler of Alliance, Kelli Byler of Alliance, Dan (Beth) Yoder of Alliance, Ron (Kelli) Yoder of North Canton 22 great-grandchildren, William III and Tonya Yoder, Ryan, Ashley, Drew and Celena Stutzman, Chris Yoder, Matthew Morrison, Dana, Mike and Timothy Gorby, Shawn and Travis Coblentz, Haley and Vanessa Raber, Cody and Courtney Byler, Erik and Christopher Byler, Ben and Sam Yoder, Brianna Yoder; brother and sisters-in-law, Valentine (Bernice) Yoder of North Canton, Sue Yoder of Sugarcreek; sister Emma Yoder of IN; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by wife Emma April 26, 1991; daughter Etta Byler January 16, 2004; 5 sisters, Amanda Mast, Mary Ann Schwartz, Barbara Bontrager, Susan Boley and Kate Mullet; 5 brothers Joe Yoder, William Yoder, Simon Yoder, John Yoder and Phineas Yoder Jr. Calling hours are Thursday (TODAY) 2-4 & 6-8 PM. The funeral will be Friday 10 AM all to be held at Bethany Mennonite Church in Hartville with Pastors Dave Slabaugh and Dave Sommers officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery.
